The purpose of this qualification is to provide individuals with the skills and knowledge to promote and supervise health and safety practices in their workplace.

Graduates of this qualification will benefit NZ workplaces and their communities by contributing effectively to a healthy and safe place of work.  Graduates will gain the knowledge and skills required to supervise specific workplace health and safety practices and procedures in the sport and recreation sector.

This Level 4 qualification is designed for individuals who have (or intend to have) a workplace health and safety accountability as part of their primary paid or volunteer job role.

Individuals enrolling in this course may be eligible for Tertiary Education Commission (TEC) funding if they meet the following requirements:
  • An employee who is employed and working in New Zealand; or
  • A self-employed contractor working in New Zealand under an arrangement with an organisation in the nature of employment; or
  • A person volunteering in New Zealand under an arrangement with an organisation in the nature of employment.

Unfortunately secondary school students are not eligible to receive TEC funding.
